Choosing the right length.
Use the same length as you currently have if it worked well.
For Above Ground Pools: Typically uses 1.25" diameter, but 1.5" will be fine with good working high horsepower pumps. For best results, get a hose that is at least 6' longer than the diameter of a round pool or the long diagonal of your oval pool from the skimmer.
For Inground Pools: Use 1.5" diameter hose.
